  1. Hi, my name is _______________________. I am a monitor technician.
  2. I am going to put the heart monitor wires on your chest in order to monitor your heart rhythm. Is that OK?
  3. I have to lift your shirt in order to properly place the wires, do I have your permission to do that?
  4. Would you prefer if I had a female put them on?
  5. This will let us watch your heart rate and rhythm from the nurse’s station.
  6. Do you have any questions about the monitor?
  7. If a wire comes loose, don’t be worry, we will see it from the desk and come in to put it back on.
  8. Try not to scratch where the sticky pads are.
  9. Do not get the wires or the monitor wet. Have your nurse remove it when you are ready to wash.
  10. The monitor pack has a battery in it and there are antennas in the ceiling that pick up your heart rhythm.
  11. The nurse’s will be notified if your heart rhythm or rate changes.

  8. Trate de no rascarse donde se colocan los adhesivos.
  9. Trate de no mojar los cables o el monitor. Pidale a una enfermera que se los remueva cuando este listo para bañarse
  10. La cajilla del monitor tiene una bateria adentro y hay antenas en el techo que recojen su ritmo cardiaco.
  11. La enfermera sera notificada si su ritmo o latidos cardiacos cambian.
